The Kawanzan Trees

Last year
(during the 23 hour that Ryan and I were engaged for the first time)
we walked in the park and discovered these trees together. It was my favorite moment of our first engagement. The trees were beautiful and for a few minutes I felt pretty peaceful.

After we broke up and since we've gotten back together I've walked or ran past these trees at least 365 times in the past year, maybe closer to 465 times.

I thought about us.
I thought about life.
I prayed.
I napped.
I waited for time to pass.
I talked on the phone.
I wrote.
I read.
I starred at the sky.
I wondered if what I was doing was right.
I watched the petals fall and then the leaves fall and
I kept hoping that the spring would return soon.

All winter I waited.

And then 2 weeks ago

And then one week ago

And finally...

And it was beautiful again

Amazing, a canopy of Spring, I adore cherry blossom trees and I've never seen them grow like that.
