It's not that we love Bill Murry SO much. I mean, we do, but we're probably not sending him a wedding invitation or anything. Neil Diamond, yes, Bill Murry...maybe not. But then again, there are only two types of people in this world, those who love Neil Diamond, and those who don't...but I digress...
Any way, we don't watch very many movies, so it's kind of become a funny thing that most of the movies we have watched together include at least a cameo of Bill Murry.
Some of the classics like Ghost Busters and Tootsie just happened because they were filmed in New York so we had to watch/re-watch them, but then with the Royal Tennenbaums house right up the street from us, he's just kind of unintentionally permeated our relationship.
In any case, we have made it a point on more than one occasion to drive several hours just to visit the site of a Bill Murry movie.
Last time, Punxsutawney, PA for Groundhog's Day,
This time, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH for a 1/2 Marathon, but in celebration of "What About Bob?"
Next time, we're going to go somewhere that is a little easier to spell...Hong Kong maybe?
Any way, we drove up late Friday night with Georgina, Jeanette, and an unexpected (but great) travel companion: Gil
We got there pretty late, hardly slept (because we were freezing), ran a half marathon the next morning, took showers, gave Gil back to the lake,
jumped in a car, and forced ourselves to stay awake while we drove the 5 hours back to New York so Ryan could make his flight to London.
So...it was kind of a whirlwind tour of Lake Winnipesaukee, but it did have it's peaceful moments.

Loved the scenes of Lake Winapasake (how do you spell it anyway?). We've been there once too and had such a great time. Last summer we watched that movie with the kids. When I showed them Ryan with the fish around his neck they thought that was so fun. I was impressed at the shot on the dock. You really should include that in your wedding video--oh, that is if you do one...
I think I would die running a half on no sleep, but I guess at that point you are on auto-pilot anyway.
Bobby ran with me when we were dating and then promptly told me he didn't like running very much once we were married! So I made him get me a puppy to run with!
That is very sweet. He was funny in Scrooged, Ghostbusters, come on - bring back Bill... ;)
I made a hilarious comment, but I must've been unable to type in the secret code. Love Bill, love the picture of Ryan with the fish around his neck, and love Lake Winnepesauke!
That last picture is truly picture perfect!! Sounds like you guys are continuing to have fun. Way to go on running the marathon, I am so proud of you.
