Some of the things I learned on my Honeymoon

For our honeymoon we stayed in a little town on Cape Cod, in a charming little inn. We explored Cape Cod a couple of days and took day trips to both Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Most importantly, I learned that I love being with Ryan 24/7 (it's the best when he doesn't have to go home at night or sleep in a different bed), though I was already confident that would be the case. Nonetheless, it was a dream to have so much uninterrupted time together.

Here are some of the other things that I learned:

It's possible to get sunburned on the ferry boat.

Before:

And After:

The oldest working carousel is on Martha’s Vineyard

Lobster Rolls are really just like tuna fish sandwiches--but lobster instead of tuna (I'm not sure what I was expecting...but it wasn't a lobster/mayo sandwich. I was so disappointed.)

Married life is full of Love n' Happiness

(and this store may have been too, but since we were in P-town--aka one of the gay capitals of the US--it was filled with snacks, gay porn, and cat magazines. So...I guess it all depends on what you definition of "Love n Happiness" is. Oh, and in case you were wondering, our definition includes more snacks and less of the other two things...)

And speaking of snacks...Cape Cod has some delicious treats

There were more light houses than we had energy to see in one trip (but we sought out as many as we could)

The sunset is really pretty when there aren't any buildings in the way

Drive in Movies still exist! Yeah!! It was like being 15 years old again

There was always something fun to see

or shopping to do

Tandem biking is the best way to get around the islands

The beaches are beautiful

l

The hydrangeas are AMAZING! More amazing than anywhere else (I think it's because of the rain), and not only are they beautiful, they're EVERYWHERE. Each bush prettier than the last.

The houses and towns are charming. We found it was best to walk by them, point, and say "Adorbs" at loud as the house deserved. It's really the only way to describe things: AAHDORBS.

Also, we're both pretty adorable (or both just narcissists. Whatever you want to call us, I guess...)

(Are we not?)

"Whale" makes for some good puns (like, "We had a whaley good time," "We Whale-come you," etc.)

And I learned this to be true as well:

Skinny men ARE sexier

I so hope that you put the ADORBS part on there so we/I could fill your blog comment boxes with how AHHHDORBS you two kids are... I mean c'mon, the clothes, the background, the post-marriage glow? Puuhleease, you slayed me.

Except you did miss honeymoon lesson #49 about how it feels to fall in love with a Civic... that is, until you have to babysit it all over Manhatten. It's good to learn how to care for high maintenance objects, cause to keep up with you guys, your kids are in trouble...

Oh goodness! I love all of it. Love it. Love it.
From the change on your blog template (the "Mrs." and "Simmons" adds, plus the cute wedding pic) to all of these great pictures from the Honeymoon, this was a huge treat to look at.
But I think my most favorite was the picture of Ryan looking down at the camera. Why??? It's the first time I've seen him with a wedding ring on, and I must say, it looks stunning and fitting.

I love you both. Thanks for sharing your memories with us! Can't wait to see more!

Hi, I found your blog through a friend's friend. Such a small world! Congratulations on getting married...you guys look so happy.
I think it is great that you have a blog, but I'm not sure your "Stuck together like peanut Butter" post is the kind of thing Elder Ballard was talking about when he said for mormon people to use technology to further the gospel and be a good example. Your comments weren't very Christlike.

Sincerely,
"Big-Boobed" Rebecca (they are even bigger now that my eternal sweetheart and I just had our fouth baby that I am still nursing :)

Those hydrangea are absolute astounding! What a romantic honeymoon for such a handsome couple. I am so sorry I couldn't come to your wedding in NYC. I really really wanted to, and I still owe you a gift. Jared was running in a 100k race in Vermont and unfortunately it was on July 18, too! I was so sad, but I knew you would want me to support my husband. Loves and Love Bells to you and yours, Tisse
